Default My memory hates me!

I've been noticing for a while now an intermitent problem with the memory on the driver seat. I'm a big guy so I have my seat all the way back and all the way down to fit semi comfortably. I save my memory by holding down the mem1 button until it stops flashing. When I get out lock the car and come back unlock the car I notice the seat has moved forward about an inch or so. I hit the mem 1 button and it doesn't move. If I move it back with the adjuster it moves back that little bit where I want it. Does anyone know why the computer us doing this to me? I think there is an easy exit function which moves everything back so you can get out easy but I don't know why this would move the seat forward.

Any help is appreciated.

Good advice. Another indication of a battery and or power issue is if your fuel mileage resets all by its self OR if you have heads up and it resets to the default screen all by its self.

You can also try to run the seat through its COMPLETE range of movement. Up,,Down,,tilt up,, tilt down etc... Sometimes the feedback pots get dirty.

I haven't tested the battery yet and will have to do so this weekend. I'm not sure if its a battery problem though since my mirrors and radio stations all return to the correct settings. I've tried switching between the better halfs settings and mine just as an experiment.

I have also tried running the seat through all ranges of motion. Is there a feature that protects the seat from moving back if the back of the seat has to much pressure applied on it? An example would be if you moved the seat all the way forward, reclined it all the way, then moved the seat back until it basically crushed against the trunk.

I'm wondering if the way I adjust the back of my seat triggers a system like this and the computer moves it forward slightly to relieve that tention.

Thanks for the reply's though and more are welcome!

As was mentioned, the first probability is the battery as its the usual cause of this happening. Check to see if the avg mpg also resets, trip odometers and so on... if all of that is happening, very high probability that the battery or its connections are having issues. Now if its the seat alone, there are connectors on the seat to car interface that the pins might be getting lose or dirty. Also, the SCM is under the driver's seat, on the seat itsself.
