I'm running a Dewits with an EOC and factory thermostat. My car runs significantly cooler than yours, (too cool in my opinion), and yes it runs cooler at highway speed than at idle or in traffic. I believe you have inadequate airflow across your radiator.

From an air flow point mine is all stock. All I did was replace a non-EOC DeWitts with an EOC DeWitts. I have also tried 2 different thermostats.

Hey Mark,

My car is down a Va Speed getting a few things done. I just put in the DeWitts with EOC. I'll have a 3.5 hour ride home when I pick it up and I'll let you know what I find out. My radiator is layed down and with a Tiger Shark nose but I'll report back what I find out. N/A 403.

Kevin

Default one more thing

i have the ptk style kit and heat has been an real issue ,i found that two bottles of wetter,.75 gal. 100% Dex,the rest water ,works the best so far.50/50 straight over heated it.
i called Evans tech .and read all i could find on the subject.i don't work so i have the time.the fact that it boils at 400* was impressive.you know when you boil water in a pan you see bubbles form?well that is what happens to the sleeves and jackets.pressure helps but not 100%.the theory is more surface heat removal in the block ,yes the temp my be the same or higher.you can not over heat,Evans says you can run at 280* with there product and do no harm.i don't know.i well have it all done in a week or so and i'll let you know.i will save my current mix just in case.
kind off wish i had your problem/cool in traffic

I installed the DeWitts with left EOC and a modified thermostat to open at approximately 180 last fall. Didn't get to drive it a lot before putting it away but it ran right at 178 all the time unless I was stopped and waiting for low fan to come on. As soon as I started moving again the temp dropped quickly. Do you have a pinched hose or anything? Only reason I would think temp would go up while driving (assuming measured temps are accurate) are decreased air flow or decreased coolant flow that can't keep up with the engine heat dump.
