I just built my 416 LS3 from SDPC about 4000 miles ago. It runs strong as hell...but I am loosing oil down the sides of the block. Not enough to drip in the ground, but its all over the block. Looks to be seeping out where the heads meet the block. They are L92 heads that are milled and ported. I used ARP bolts. Currently I am using .60 thickness gaskets. Could they have gone bad after such a short time? I have some .45's in the garage...can I just change these out without worring of a big CR change?
the leak is not from the front cover, nor valley......no idea why the heads are lifting
Theres ZERO pressurized oil in the heads. The lifters get oil thru the lifter bores and the rockers get oil through the push-rods and the oil drains back into the block through the areas around the head-bolts.
Pressurized oil can and will leak out of the OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT!
I thought I had a SERIOUS oil leak. I had oil everywhere. I wiped down the entire engine and found that the timing chain cover seal for the damper was allowing oil to leak during high speed blast due to higher crank case pressures during WOT runs.
Wipe down the engine and do a short normal drive and then check the engine. Then do a high speed blast and see if you see any leaks.

i had that same problem on my 346....I have looked at the front cover..its dry
seems to still be PCV issues....the tube from the valve cover was spewing oil to the air bridge and running out of the TB then down the sides of the block....from what it looks like. Im not sure this LS3 valley cover has a internal valve....nothing seems to work for a PCV for me. I just have it vented to the atmosphere now
