okey guys i have 1997 corvette the car locks and unlock by it self i turn the car off get out wait a couple of min and it locks and unlock and it keep doing that all day and some times when i drive it the sec light comes on turn the car off and turn it back on its gone any ideas?
Obviously this is exactly what the passive switch on the remote key fob does when it comes close to the car. If you have the passive key fob and walk around the car it will unlock and lock the doors continuously as you move by or away from the car. Have you tried to reset or reprogram your passive key fob? That would be the first thing I would try. Does this happen only when you are by your car and have the key fob on you. Or will it happen even if you leave the key fob in the house. If it happens when you do not have your key fob by the car, I would definitely look at the reciever/antenna by the rear tire in the hatch compartment. Could be defective, but I would lean towards something with the passive key fob. Maybe if you turn the passive key fob feature off on your key fob and it still behaves like this, I would go directly to the key fob that the off feature isn’t working any longer on your key fob. Contacts dirty inside fob, etc. Hope this helps or opens a door for you to find the problem. It is a weird one. But sometimes weird problems end up being the easy ones.
