So i'm under the car trying to fix a damn annoying exhaust rattle i have between 1400-1700 rpm that buzzes on acceleration and also mount up the drag radials for sunday. As i'm observing all the band clamps are super close(some touching/rubbing each other) so i loosen all of them move them so they are not touching anything and tighten them up. Also added a helper spring between the 2 springs that hold up the rear part of the exhaust. Pretty sure it is fixed but won't know for sure until i take it out later. As i am under there i keep scratching my head why i cant find my rear o2 bungs after the cats. I then say why are the cats so far back in the first place...well then duh it hit me. They are on the wrong part of the exhaust. The x-pipe is before the cats...i don't think that is how it's suppose to be. Also this would explain why my random tech high flow cats stink sometimes on heavy acceleration. They aren't working efficiently because they are further back in the exhaust which is not hot enough. This would also explain why there is a wide up section right after the collectors but not where the cats are. It's pretty tight back there. So it looks like i have more work to do when i'm up for it. My setup consist of LG Pros, catted X pipe to borla stingers.

This system was on the car when i bought it. I believe my records show Corvettes of Maryland did the install.

This is why i do all the mods myself i can help it. I just hope once i take it apart to put it correct that it all lines up and will bolt together like it's suppose to...

I've seen a few cars installed like this, often it's hired help/$8-10/hour that is out in the shop, not a Corvette person.....

On my American Racing headers the X-Pipe is before the cats...

The cats are welded in X-Pipe and you can't swap ends around due to the flanges.

Interesting. I just figured there is more space to have the cats next to the collector and also exhaust is hotter there. I'm sure it's not really hurting much right now though.
