Anyone seen the vent on the rear diff "leak" ? I got a fluid leak that appears to be from the vent. It showed up after some track play. Fluid level was checked and it was OK and clean. Do these vents have a check valve that could be stuck open? The leak is on a 04 Z06 with 6000 miles.

You may already know this, but when you check the proper fluid level was just the back end jacked or was the vehicle level? If just the back end, it could be over serviced.
The driver's side output shaft seal and the driver's side diff side covers are known to leak. There are updated seals that supersede the original ones. This could also be your source.

To answer your questions, yes there is a check valve in the vent and the problem is it sticks closed until there is an excessive amount of pressure.
Then the axle seals leak or it finally pops open spewing oil out the vent.
I solved my issue by removing the check valve and extending the vent pipe and added a conventional jiggle cap vent.
