Diff Vent Leaks?
Anyone seen the vent on the rear diff "leak" ? I got a fluid leak that appears to be from the vent. It showed up after some track play. Fluid level was checked and it was OK and clean. Do these vents have a check valve that could be stuck open? The leak is on a 04 Z06 with 6000 miles.

The driver's side output shaft seal and the driver's side diff side covers are known to leak. There are updated seals that supersede the original ones. This could also be your source.

Then the axle seals leak or it finally pops open spewing oil out the vent.
I solved my issue by removing the check valve and extending the vent pipe and added a conventional jiggle cap vent.
