Default need urgent advice.

The MIL just came on. Pulled codes, P0433CH. I did some reading and it looks like its the "Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction"
I reset the code and it came back. Since then, I've double checked the gas cap and I don't know if it will come back or not. (started drinking when I did the research).

Here's the kicker: I have to drive back home tomorrow after work, 200 miles. Do the experts think this will be a major issue? Normally I would park it until I could fix it. But as I said, I have to go home tomorrow. I don't have time to keep trouble shooting, and I can't take off to run it to the Chevy garage. What are the odds of permanent damage if the gas cap didn't fix it? Or will I just burn excess gas?

thanks, I really hate being in this situation...sucks.(I'm between rock and hard place.)

Your right, P0443, as I said, I've had a couple drinks. I can't really blame the Jim Beam, I've made that same mistake 3 times while doing internet searches before I had my first drink.

thanks

thanks. It seems like half the people I know drive around with that check engine light on. Drives me crazy. The sad part is most of them end up with real car problems within 6 months. They just don't take care of the little things. I feel horrible knowing that I am going to drive it for 3-4 hours with that stupid light on.

thanks again.

Is this one of the codes given if the gas cap is loose?
