Default Fast Intake Question

I'm planning to do a heads and cam upgrade on my 2003 Z06 in the future but do not want to spend the money now. I was thinking about doing an incremental upgrade by adding a FAST 90mm ported intake and throttle body. There are a lot of good deals on these parts on the Forum right now and I was thinking about taking advantage of this. My question is will the intake and throttle body give me much of an increase in HP or should I just wait and do all of the upgrades as part of the heads and cam package? Thanks for your input.

I'd do heads + cam first then intake + TB later unless you just want to spend a lot of $$$ at one time. You'll get more hp out of the heads/cam. For the $1200 or so you spend on TB + intake it may give you 10-15 rwhp.

I'd do it all at once. Less down time and tuning.

I agree with Ikester.

Do it ALL at once. You may have driveability issues with the TB and manifold install and it "MAY" require tuning to resolve it. You will also find out "thru data logging your engine " that your fuel injector duty cycle will be maxed out and you may need to increase the injector size.

Just make sure that you include that into your up-grade plans.

Tuning isnt cheep. Get it all done at once and get a GOOD professional tune. You will be much happier!

There are definitely some "hacks" tuning cars. Some of them even own speed shops. So, the word "professional" (IMO) should be replaced with "competent". There are plenty of competent tuners that don't tune for a profession.

As others have said, either do it with the heads/cam or spend the cash now on the cam and do the heads/intake later.

Thanks for all of the input. It's unanimous, I'll wait and do it all at once.
