Harmonic Balancer Issue...?

Hey all, I recently had a mechanic friend of mine take a look at my 2001 C5's engine - just for safety purposes. Much to my suprise (bc i was assured that the dealer had all mechanical issues checked) he noticed something he called "peculiar". He then showed me how my harmonic balancer was "wobbly" at idle and acceleration. I've not noticed any oil drippings or major performance issues. Is this a common thing? How do you all suggest I remedy the problem (if it is a problem)? The dealer offers a 3 month 3k mile warranty....please advise. Thanks!

Common problem solved with aftermarket balancer. Search for harmonic Balancer or wobbly balancer, you'll see all the posts.

Not too easy, steering rack has to come out to replace the balancer.

Yep... I had the same issue. I got mine replaced with a nice aftermarket balancer. Just search the forum for all the info you need, including how to replace it!
