OK I changed the oil in my car and used a mobile 1 oil filter instead of a AC filter and now my engine is making a lot of noise. Sounds like a sewing machine under the hood , did not ever sound like this with the AC filter. Anyone else ever had this issue with a oil filter.
I had a problem w/AC filters years ago, and I don't use them any more. The rubber ring stayed up on the engine, instead of staying on the old filter when taking it off. It was probably just a bad batch at the time. Been using Frams ever since. On the Vette, I use Mobil 1 oil and a Mobil 1 filter. I have an LS 6 motor, and it allways sounds like a sewing machine! LOL.
Did you look inside your filter before installing it? It is a sad comment on people, but it has happened that morons will think it funny to take a filter off the shelf at a parts store and cram something inside it before returning it to the box and shelf. Very unlikely but possible. In any event, put on another filter(best to fill before installing) and see what happens. Don't run the car any more than necessary until you find out what's what. Good luck.
I found the Mobil-1 filters restrictive and the person I have review my oil analysis recommended not to run them for that reason. Swap it out and see if that resolves the issue. If not, then you will need to look elsewhere.
I changed my oil a few weeks ago. It had Mobil 1 oil in it and a Mobil 1 filter. On cold start ups I had the not uncommon engine noises for the first minute or two. It seemed many people on the forum said their cars did the same, so I didn't worry about it.
This oil change I switched to Castrol Edge and a WIX filter and there are no more cold start noises.
Of course, since I changed the brand for both oil and filter, I really don't know which one made the improvement.

Your oil guy is full of ****--Mobil 1 is as good if not better than any on the market--Does your oil guy wear a dress?
My guess is he changed to a lower viscosity oil, or it is the oil filter. No way of really knowing for sure from out her in cyber world. I wonder what happened to the OP? No reports back as to what was found.

Remove the oil filter, start the car, and if the noise goes away, it was the oil filter!
Just kidding.
Have been using WIX filters, and I recently changed to Valvoline Synpower, and I have less cold engine noise. I am beginning to suspect that Mobil 1 quality may not be what it used to be, and it does worse in wear tests than Castol, Valvoline, and other oils that now meet the Corvette spec.

Now that there are a couple more full synthetics out there that meet the GM Vette spec, I'd expect Mobil 1 will lose some customers based on fact that some maybe better than Mobil 1.
I switched from a DELCO UPF-44 filter to WIX, because of what people on here said about restrictive filters, my cold oil pressure went up 10-15 psi. Since the C5 oil pressure sensor is AFTER the oil filter, more pressure = more flow. Didn't notice any different sounds.
Recently I changed from Mobil 1 oil to Castrol Edge (due to some wear (high lead) readings on used oil analysis) and my car did quiet down.
