Your friend has three options:
  1. Remove the shocks and ride control computer. Have the F45 option removed from the computer with a TechII device. Dealers and many tuners will have one.
  2. Purchase and install shock simulators (they plug into the harness at each wheel).
  3. Make your own simulators from large resistors. Instructions can be found with a thorough search.

Cut the wire from the shock and splice in a 10 watt 10 ohm resistor in between the two wires. Wrap them up good and tie them to the wheel speed sensor wires to keep them out of the wheels.

If you have a 99 you do NOT have magnetic ride. You would have Real Time Dampening, Selective Ride F-45 Option.

You can completly remove the F-45 RPO from the BCM and no longer worry about it. You will need access to a GM Tech II to accomplish that.

OR

Install SIMs or resistors!!

Ditch that foolish crap and install some C6 ZO6 shocks $250 New from Gene Culley. 100% OEM bolt in replacement!

Then get ya some C6 ZO6 Sway Bars and end links or a set of used C5 Z-51 or ZO6 sway bars.

If you edit the RPO code from the BCM, you can remove ALL that crap.

If you add sims or resistors,,,,all that stuff needs to stay and work correctly!

I prefer to remove it ALL!
