Spark Plug removal?

Why do you have to change the plugs at 55,000 miles? They are good for at least 100,000 miles. Actually they are good for a lot more. I have changed them at 125,000 and at 275,000 miles on my '99. The vette now has over 380,00 with the third set of plugs and is still running strong .

well I have the passenger side done. Took about half hour. Im going to take this time while im in the car to clean off the starter cable because im been having starter issues for a couple years.
An interesting note is I had TR55 gapped at .050
im installing TR6's at .040
I can see the drivers side is a boitch
