Bill, could you please send me you tutorial at your convenience? Thank you, sir !! wineczar@gmail.com
this is a ten year old thread, the Bill you are looking for has not posted in many years, I did not know him but I’m not sure he is with us anymore.......
There are several companies that repair these. ABSFixer, etc. I would call them with the code to see if it could be repaired. I had this issue last summer. My problem reported that the right front speed sensor was open or shorted. I tried all kinds of things before dealing with the ABS controller. In retrospect, I should have gotten a mechanic involved sooner. My ABS controller could not be repaired and I had to purchase a re-manufactured unit which was expensive.Glad this is behind me.
Here’s my code, just showed up today: last time this happened on my Z06 I just soldered 5 little points on a circuit card and all was well. How do I KNOW if that’s the problem here?

Check your battery and charging system first. Then reset the code and see how long it takes to come back. Then check grounds, then the wheel speed sensor connections...
I'd say if the code is immediately tripped then you're looking at needing the repair.
Abs fixer just did mine last week. No more 1214 code. It was however a bit of a pain in the rear to get out and back in. Here’s what I did. Hopefully it helps.

Just my thought.
FWIW, every time I clear the code it comes right back. I will try above. Battery is new.

Yeah I'd say the unit needs repair. I'm in the same boat right now. Immediate code upon reset. New battery. The car is at the shop being safetied and I'll probably ask him to check the grounds and wheel speed pickups, but more than likely the EBCM is coming out.
Hi Group. All fixed. Same 5 posts as usual. I used a combo drill bit extension, flex shaft, driver drill, small ratchet that accepts 1/4” bits, flashlight and a lot of scratches on my right arm to get it done. I lost one screw temporarily on the install, and was having conniptions with that until I extracted it from it’s hiding place. I did use the trick of some kind of glop to hold the screws in place on install. I had some plumber’s putty.
I also used the tap/screw method to free the cover. I didn’t realize both parts are not made of steel.
