Default Why swap o2 sensors

I am adding some LG headers to my 2003 soon. I have been reading up on the various net found install instuctions ad many of them say to swap the back O2 sensors with the front ones. Why is this?

It's not a swap....it's a replacement. The front O2 sensors are removed, and not used. The rear O2's are removed from the rear positions, and installed in the front O2 positions (left to left, right to right) to take advantage of the better heater circuit used in the rear O2s. LG sells adapters, because the front O2 harness will not plug up to the rear O2 sensor plugs without them.

The car has 100K miles on it. Should I use new rear o2 sensos in the front?

Obviously you don't have to, but since you already there....why not? Make sure you secure the wiring away from the headers, and use a good heat protection sleeving, wrap, etc.

I am getting ready to do a header swap on mine to the LG Pro's. I have been wondering if there is an O2 with the correct connection and better heater so you can kill two birds with one stone plus end up with new O2's.

Could not have said it better myself.

Remember when buying our header kits the extensions come included at no extra charge!

I don't have a picture on the site. Pretty small wiring extension. square connection on one end, and a flat four pin on the other. About 6" total length.

I forgot, they are on my Christmas list so someone at LG likely got a panic phone call from one of my daughter's.

I can just tell you what I did with my 2001 with 60K on the clock, and I bought new bosch at autozone. I am not sure if the old would have worked or not. I did have it tuned after the install by a local tuner. He also deleted the rears.

Good luck with yours.
