I am pretty sure my lifters are bleeding down. The car takes off and then will generally bog down, which I am assuming is due to the safety mechanism pulling all the timing back. What are the best lifters for an 03' Corvette? Comp R. lifters? Also, what other issues could it be?
Not sure what your issues are, was it tuned? Best lifters, hands down, are Morels. You can get both with and without the link bar. Read the fine print on the Comp R's.
The car was tuned for the street and the cam has been in it for over 35k miles. I recently swapped the heads on the car and it was retuned. I can check into the tune though. Thanks for the reference on lifters!
I like what you are guys are saying. I've got a .620 lift camshaft on a Extreme Gold Valvesprings with 7.400 Hardened Pushrods and Ported and Polished LS6 set of Head. Full Kooks Long Tube Headers Kooks X-pipe with no cats. I really dont think the tune is problem. I might go have it checked out at a GREAT place in Lewisville.
OH, P.S
THe plugs and wires were just replaced. I just had a head swap and when im doing 60 and i drop to 3rd gear I sometimes get a bog which was from what I thought to be my lifters bleeding down. ANYTHOUGHTS??\
I took the car from 60-170mph in 5th gear with no problems, so i am confused. ANY THOUGHTS!!

Yes. It would be simple to see what is causing the hesitation by logging the car while driving it. Who did the tune?
Unless you data log the engine during the problem, you wasting time and money. Data logging will help pin point the problem. Anyone with EFI Live or HP Tuners can data log for you. Its free other than time in the passengers seat. So,,,if you know someone with either tuning software, ask for some log time.
