I'm thinking maybe the relay could be the problem? somehow transferring a low current to dimly light up the LED's?

What relay are you referring to? The power is fed to the reverse lights through the b/u light switch on the transmission. If it's working, no power can get through to the lamps, unless the car is in reverse, or the switch is bad. Disconnect the plug on the transmission. If the lights continue to glow, the power is coming in from the approach lights line. You're on you own for any modifications you have made to use the led's.

I just did a search for my old thread and after much messing around you want to check this: For the fuse box under pass kick panel, my book says fuse #21 is "Brake-Transmission Shift Interlock". This is the fuse for the reverse lights. Check it.
Thanks a lot, i looked last nite and i couldnt figure out which of the fuses in the kick panel was the one for the lights.. I'm gonna go check 21 in a few minutes.

Did you fix your b/u light problem?

Just go to any local autoparts store and you can pick one up, doesn't have to be ordered from GM..

Default Thanks!

I was wondering why my reverse lights wouldn't work, but they blinked when the alarm was set. A $12.95 switch from O'reilly auto parts with a lifetime guarantee fixed it perfectly. Just had to replace it and torque the new one to 15ft/lbs.

This thread led me right to the issue. Thanks.

My lights worked with the FOB, but not in Reverse. In my case it was a bad switch. I had no fuses blown.

Changed the switch. Both fuses are fine. Still no lights? Any clues?

With my 2002 Z06 the issue was one of the Micro Relays. More specifically, number 38 in the underhood fusebox diagram here:
http://www.c6registry.com/technical/...02corvette.pdf

I replaced the micro relay and it worked like normal. Symptoms were no reverse lights in reverse, but it had reverse lights when using the key fob.

Hope this helps.
