Can heat from the engine ruin a TPS,It seems when my car gets really warm I start having TPS problems. I have gone through 2 TPS since having a Kenne Bell S/C installed.
Like all components, they are designed to withstand the vibration they are exposed to. Attaching it to a non stock location there is a risk of exceeding the limits the part was designed for. Seeing this has happen more than once, you may want to try and isolate the throttle body.
I would expect that you are not the first to experience this and a call to Kenne Bell’s support line might have a suggested fix.
What DTCs are you getting to make you think your having bad TPS. They are pretty stout and dont fail that easily. Ive seen a few fail but, not that often.

If I remember correctly its 1221,I've put a new one on each time and the problem goes away for awhile,I was having a overheat issue the last time it happened last summer, thats why I was thinking it was heat related.I'm going to try another new one and see if it lasts during the summer.Glad you saw this as I know you would be able to help on this.
DTC P1221 is throttle postion sensor (actually two sensors in one housing) check the harness - sometimes it will cause the DTC to set. When you disconnect and replace the sensor, you move the harness...
I've looked at harness and can see nothing wrong with it,I've also talked to the people at KB and they have not heard of any issues like this.I do know the only time I start to have issues is if my car gets really warm,I can control ther temp now,so hopefully after I get a new sensor i won't have any more problem,I think my queston was if anybody thought if the TPS got to hot could it cause it to go bad. Thanks for all the help so far.
I put a new TPS on and now I'm not getting any codes or the dreaded REP,I'm pretty sure that its a heat issue,it happens everytime my car gets real hot,the last 2 time have been when I was in the mountains on a hot day with the AC going and lugging the car,I now know that I can't use the AC unless I'm going at a good clip, and I know I need a better radiator to cool my car down some.
I suppose it's possible........but not plausible. Consider that the TPS is probably mounted to the coolest part of the engine(air intake aside). If there was enough heat build up to cause a failure of this sensor, I would imagine many other systems would be compromised as well. I would carefully inspect that harness.
Its relocated next to my Kenne Bell S/c'er,on top of the engine on the drivers side, not getting any other codes.
