I just finished installing headers, cat eliminators, X-pipe, cat backs and a vararam intake with power duct. both front and rear O2's are hooked up. during the test drive I noticed the check engine light was flashing I also couldn't lug the car around in lower gears without the motor shuttering and the speedometer is way fast i.e. 50mph reads 100mph. I checked all the connections and their fine. I'm thinking that all it needs is a tune? any other ideas of what it could be?
Flashing check engine light = misfire. If you threw the headers on w/o taking the plugs out, replace them, you probably cracked one. (very common error)
Beyond that, check the plug wires, and also verify you reconnected the front 02 sensors correctly (right harness into right header...left harness into left header).
You can probably fix the speedometer by pressing the E/M button on the dash.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! You were right on all three. I had a coil boot that wasn't snapped all the way and the O2s were crossed and I had hit the E/M button. she runs alot better now and again thak you so much for your help.
You will likey start throwing codes....
most do after a header install...
a tune will eliminate them and should get you an additional 15 HP.... at least that was my husband's excuse after he spent all that money on the vararam and the headers.....
