I went on absfixer.com and followed the instructions. Had them repair it, and all is good so far. Easy to do, just cost you a little skin and blood, oh, and some coin.

However, you need to pull your codes to see if it is something other than the EBCM itself. Many different codes that are repairable can set the AH/TC lights on the dash and generate the Service........ messages. For 97 - 2000 C5's if the codes are because of the actual EBCM itself, there is no fix short of a replacement EBCM if you can find one. New ones don't exist and used ones are very scarce because of no new being available.

Here's how to pull your codes:

OK, I pulled my codes and got the following:
28-TCS C1217 H
28-TCS C1221 H
28-TCS C1222 H
28-TCS C1243 H
60-IPC B1527 H
99-HVAC B0367 H
AO-LDCM B2284 H
AO-LDCM U1255 H
AO-LDCM U1064 H
A1-RDCM B2283 H
A1-RDCM B2285 H
A1-RDCM U1255 H
A1-RDCM U1064 H
A1-RDCM U1016 H
A1-RDCM U1096 H
A6-SCM U1160 H
A6-SCM U1064 H
BO-RFA U1096 H
BO-RFA U1064 H
BO-RFA U1016 H

Should I reset and see if they reappear??

Default Service Traction System/ Service Vehicle Soon/Active handling is warming up

OK im a little confuse as to what MY PROBLEM MAY BE. Service Traction System/Service Vehicle Soon message is constantly displaying. I ran the code and Im get C1283 H. Now it's my understand the steering is off, possibly before the steering is off center. However, im reading post that say if the your getting this message it's more than likely the EBTCM. So i don't know whether to send my module to absfixer or not. What I do know my abs system is not working and i constantly getting the service traction message.

Thanks in advance, yes I'm rookie!

Default EBCM Problem

I have had this problem for a long time now. Right now the only code that pulls up is C1214 H&C. Also my warning lights have been coming on every time I drive the car. So this weekend I finally followed the 'sticky' 65 and I did everything. I checked all the grounds I could find, I checked the fuses and finally I removed the EBCM. That was not as easy as some make it sound, but I did it. I checked all the solder joints and they all looked good. Nothing even questionable on the joints, not like when I did my 241's. So I put it all together again and re-installed the unit. I started the car and the warning lights came on again. Made me want to curse, but it's Sunday.

Does that mean I need a new relay???

If your talking about the ABS problem just go to "Sticky" 65. It's all there and you can pull up instructions with pictures.
