Contact Marc at VETTENUTS Salvage He has EVERYTHING C5

Dont know exactly what its for but GM put it there for a reason. Most likely to reduce noise when the vacuum vents off.

Just bridge it like it was suggested and see if it good to goo.

Bought my C5 in January. A/C started to pump heat out the passenger side so I fount a "fix' by disconnecting the battery + . A/C worked great for 2 weeks. Now dealer want 5 hours + $283 for part.
Side effect, Radio won't work because it thinks it has been stolen. Dealer wants $105 to reset radio. Found some codes but none worked. In a fix!! Pictures and directions on Forum are a great help. Just need guts to attack the problem. At 77 writing a check is a lot easier but its the da.. principal!!! Saw a recommendation from a shop in Florida to buy a Doorman Actuator for $95. Anyone know how to get factory secret code for radio?

I had this saved, it's supposed to work although I haven't used it myself:

The following procedure will give you a new code that you can use instead of your personal code. Using this new code, you can “unlock” your radio and then “re-lock” it with a new code if you wish.

Prerequisites: The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode. Let me explain. If you have activated the Theft-Deterrent feature of your radio and loose power, the radio goes into LOC (theftlock) mode. With the ignition on, you must use the MN and HR buttons to enter you personal code in order to unlock it (The instructions are on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual).

If you fail to enter the correct code eight (8) times, the radio goes into INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode (go for a long drive somewhere). Procedure:

01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds

03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don’t take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.

04. Press the AM/FM button

05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.

06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05

07. Call 1 800 537 5140

08. Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”

09. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)

10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)

11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice

12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11

14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable.

The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code.

Try these:
206053
620529
202107
106010
202108

Good luck!

EDIT: I tried the 800 number in the procedure above, and it didn't pick up so.....not sure.

Like the instructions however different from owner's manual. My problem is that nothing other than the clock shows on the display. At one time I was pressing several button pairs to see what I could generate and the only thing that showed up was the #802. I have not been able to duplicate it. Last night I disconnected the battery to see if the A/C would work on the passenger side and it did today after I reconnected the battery. I corrected the clock and it is working fine. I then went through the DTC code test and it shows nothing for the A/C or Radio in the History or Current. It does show several codes under B, C & U. All the U code refer to Datalink Communication failures including U1096 referring to (BCM, DDM, HVAV, PDM, Radio, RCDLR & SDM. Do you think that the LOC or INOP modes don't show because of the history under the Software communication failure under the U codes? Let me know what you or others think. Thank you again for your reply!

Cannot believe it. Decided to try the radio re-coding anyway. Carefully sat in the car and decided to just push the on-off button for the he.. of it. Well to my surprise the radio turned on. I have done this dozen times to no avail so now I won't turn the radio off gain unless I have to for the A/C fix.

probably on the same side as the malfunction. the newer ones usually click or make noise. I you remove the one you think it is you can probably turn the shaft to see if it changes the problem. then you will know. they are tricky to get at and remove but not super hard to do. have to remove lower panels, sometimes front / side console panel. not too difficult
