Default relay chatter in dash?

I have a buzzing noise that sounds like a relay chatter in the dash. It changes when I turn on the head lights or move the power seat. It will last for 1 to 5 minutes. Anyone have any idea of what the problem is?
Thanks, Steve 321-987-7741 1998 C5

If its a relay,, when a relay chatters, its caused by one or more of the following issues:

- Low Voltage in that circuit
- Bad relay
- Loose or poor connection

I suggest that you PIN POINT the exact source of the noise and find out what it really is. Once you figure that out, we will be able to give you a LOT more help.

When you have the KEY in the ON position engine OFF, what is the battery voltage reading at the battery terminals and what does your DIC Voltage reading read?

MAKE SURE that your battery is fully charged and the terminals are properly torqued to 11 ft/lbs

I found where the buzzing noise was coming from. It was the drivers power seat control module.

I have not opened the drivers power seat control module yet. Are there any typical failures on the drivers power seat control module?

It would only do it when I was driving down the highway so by the time I pulled over it would stop. Today it started right after I started it up and before I was in gear. I was able to climb under the dash to look and feel around. To my surprise, it was not forward at all. I could feel it in the floor, but that is just honeycomb composite. Then I realized the drivers power seat control module was buzzing and since the seat was all the way down low it was touching and vibrating the floor.

Check the input voltage and ground resistance at the seat connector under the seat. Must be battery voltage and ZERO ohms. Remember,,, Buzzing usually means low voltage or poor grounds.
