If I come up to Carlisle, I will bring my old cluster with me. Its fully assembled, and I'm willing to give it to someone like you, Bill, for the greater good of the forum, and home mechanics everywhere!

If I don't make it to Carlisle, and you only want the malfunctioning IPC board, I will pull the board and mail it to you. The board is only 8" x 4" or so, which is not a large box to be mailing. The board is the part that seems to fail most often anyways. The switches are such a simple sealed system, if they fail, its usually because the push button is stuck or broken "in". The two daughter boards have nothing on them, really, so I think the failures on those would be minimum.

Hey, Bill... If this used IPC w/HUD that I bought on eBay solves my problem - I'll gladly send it to you to do with as you want just as kluden suggested! You've gone out of your way to offer me possible solutions on this, my electrical drain issues and such - complete with photos and scematics... I only wish I was a better mechanic with electrical circuit tracing skills to be able to take some of your suggestions and run with them as suggested! Maybe in time I'll get there - but for now...

kluden... Thanks for replying! I did pretty much as you suggested... I bought a used IPC w/HUD (mine has it, too) on eBay from a car with about 57,000 miles on it. Mine has about 58,500 miles - CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME!! haha... I'll let you know if I was as lucky to fire it up this time and PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Thanks, guys! You guys make me glad I found this place! As I was told when I first got my C5 and had my 1st electrical problem: If you LIKE to TINKER - the C5 is for YOU!! I "DON'T" - but I'm glad to know where to turn when I "HAVE TO"!! LOL

I'll bring one down to Carlisle for you. I just picked one up at Bloomington because I needed just the front bezel piece. Once I remove that you can have the rest.

WOW,, You guys are amazing!

Peter

I was at Bloomington also. I was asked to be a guest speaker at one of the Cubic Knowledge seminars. I hung out at the Corvette Central Tent for most of the show.

Thank you very much for the offer. We will have to meet up. I will be in the FUN FIELD. Just look for the 2011 Inferno Orange Grand Sport Convertible from CT.

HEY! BILL!! It appears as though I have solved the mystery of the Scrolling DIC Info!! I fired the car up after putting the used eBay IPC Gauge Cluster in and everything worked like it was supposed to - SO FAR!! I will be able to tell you for sure in an hour or so because I just finished putting everything all back together and I'm going to run it down to the hand wash and have them clean it up inside and out... (Stick a fork in me - I'm done playing Mr. Goodwrench for this week!! haha...)

Send me your address in a PM and I'll get that gauge cluster off to you to disect ASAP - providing I don't come back from the car wash with a different tune...
