Default Which crankshaft for high boost??

I am in the process of rebuilding my motor. Its just a lil 347ci motor with Patriot heads and a blower cam. Its obviously forged but with a stock crankshaft. I was intending to leave the crank in, but I got a call from my builder, saying my crank is bent and hes pretty sure its cracked

So I dont have a crap load of money to spend now that I put so much money into the rebuild. Do you guys have a recommendation on which crank would be good for me with 20lbs of boost? Also if you know of a place that has killer deals, lol... THANKS

I just read a thread on another forum recently where several engine builders were reporting cracked/broken cranks on boosted motors and they were high qualify forged cranks.

Callies C series and up, Eagle, Scat... if its forged and built correctly you should not have an issue. I'd go with Compstar rods and Wiseco pistons + rings

I already have Ross pistons and callies H-beam rods. Just have a stock crank thats bent/cracked now. What is a stock crank usually good up to?

Curious read.

Interesting that many claim the crankshaft cracks are due to a blower, but the individual with the picture showing a cracked crankshaft is NA.

At $3800 for a crank, they had better be good. There aren't to many people that need one of those but Callies offer a CCW crank as well. Just isn't needed in 99.9% of the applications out there.

I just received a quote from Bryant for a 4.038 inch stroke crank for a 440 LS series engine - $2,975 with shipping - 6 weeks delivery.

Wow, thats less than the CCW from Callies for sure... still not needed but not a bad turn around.

Hmmm. I think I am going with a new stock one. I had good luck with this one till now. I have heard stock ones are good up to 800-900 rwhp, so we will see!!
