driver side mirror has a poltergeist. help!!!

I have a busted c5 mirror somewhere,,,, and I will see if I can find it and detail a fix.
Without actually having it in hand and actually seeining how its constructed, I would say that you can pop the mirror out, remove the motor assembly and see if you can see the feed back pots. If you can, a good spray with some plastic safe contact cleaner and moving the controls thru their full ranges might be enough to make it work again.
If you cant, you will have to do some careful detailed disassemblyand then clean the pots.

That would be great Bill if you can post a picture or something. If not, I wonder of some long medical style Q-tips could be used with some cleaning solution to reach in if you pushed the mirror to each extreme? Or is where needs cleaned oin the back side of the assembly?

NA,, from what I remember, the whole thing is in a plastic case assy and may need to come apart to get to the electronics.
