Helping my son install headers on his '99 FRC. In checking parts, no AIR pipe was included. Find out it is no longer a part of the package. My question, if I cut the existing pipe and add a length of tubing would this
cause any problem? Thanks for any help on this.

What headers? Are you saying the headers you purchased do no have AIR tubes on them?
The AIR connections are on each header. This set of headers require that the AIR pipe (right side) be relocated one cylinder forward ('97 to 00). The new pipe (longer) was included at one time but is not now.

You got me on this one. I've never heard of "relocated the air pipe". For the headers I've seen, you either have them for the correct year .....or you don't. Provided you have the correct headers for the correct year....the AIR connections bolt right up.
You have the headers for the later year. You either need to but the pipe/check valve or the later year or I would consider cutting. Cut near the back of the head to keep the rubber as far from the heat as you can. Not sure if it will work, but worth a try considering the alternative would require you throw away that pipe anyhow.
The cutoff is 2000. I installed a 2002 ZO6 exhaust system on a 2000 Coupe and we had to cut the passenges air tube pipe and splice it with a rubber sleeve. The oil dip stick also needs to be changed to a late model design.
You can also have a welding shop just move the flange. Its a simple procedure.
JW, my thanks to you for your customer service. It far exceeds what one can expect from the header manufacturer. Perhaps the manufacturer could advertise the changes in his header kits instead of shipping something that does not included the necessary parts to complete the installation. Also, the manufacturer should include the installation instructions as part of the kit. When I bought my headers from this company, I was sent all necessary instructions including those for the oxygen sensor wiring guide. Needless to say, I will no longer recommend this manufacturer as a reliable supplier.
Thanks to all for the info. Special thanks to JW for finding and shipping the AIR pipe. Will wait for the pipe to be delivered and install it instead of cutting the original pipe and adding a peice. This is something that should have been handled by LG Motorsports. I guess customer satisfaction is no longer a priority for this company. For those with a '97-'00 vette be careful if you order a header kit from this company.
