Default diff help

hey guys need a bit of info. I have a 6 speed 2001 vert build 408 ptk twin kit. rear end made a weird noise after taking it apart to replace the clutch decided to pull the rear end apart everything was good at first then I found the cross pin broken. is there a suggestion for a local shop in new york that will put this together for me. do they make a hardened cross pin or should i leave the stock one that seems to be the only factory piece in the rear. any help/info will be appreciated.

YES,, They make a hardened better pin. DTE Sells it. You can also up-grade to C6 parts.

Im going to provide you TWO FANTASTIC links . They BOTH address hardening the C5 rearend wth better quality C6 parts. I did this toi mine.

- C5, ragtopws6 , Upgrading your C5 rear with C6 Z06 guts, : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-z06-guts.html

- C5, Its_Go_Time, Output Shaft Install - Left and Right: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...post1573407966

Just for some knowledge, heres a tranny post also. It's cool to see whats inside:

- C5 ragtopws6, T-56 Build (whats in my tranny?) : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/nort...-smoother.html

Enjoy!

Get the hardened pin for $99 from RPM transmissions. http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/differentialparts.html

That way you don't end up like this:
