would be a very poor ground, and only an idiot would use it. not to mention that this whole disagreement is revolving around if that is a rubber bushing. If that is indeed a rubber bushing, this would make not only a poor ground, but an unstable ground. ever heard of intermittent? I believe all rubber has more give than steal, also deteriorates faster than steal., so if the rubber bushing in question, flexes, smashes, or moves in any way, what happens to the precious contact that the threads and rest of the metal contact underneath?
