this is what i ordered. but from rockauto.
got it today. finally. i hope i didn't make any mistake and ordered a wrong one? i have a LS1 motor 1998? Tomorrow we will replace it,

So many things i have to do this week, i have to repair my hand brake, replace water pump, Technical review, pay new insurence.

Its just banging my purse.
There are TWO different LS1 water The one above and one with a pressed on one piece drive pulley. Look on the front of the black drive pulley and see if there are four nuts on studs. If there is, you have the correct pump. I cant remember IF, the newer one is interchangeable with the old.

You will also have the old felt (DIFFICULT TO SCRAPE OFF THE BLOCK) gaskets. That will be the worst part of the pump change! Make sure to get all the OLD gasket off the block!!

Make sure that the pump comes with TWO the new style metal/O ring gaskets or you will have to purchase TWO. If it comes with the OLD STYLE gaskets, you can still use them but the new ones are better.

If there are FOUR NUTS on the front of the pulley,,, you have the correct one. If there are NO nuts, you will have to figue out if the new style pump is interchangable. Simple as that.

If it anything like my 98,, you got the correct one. My 98 was an early car.

Today i had tehnical review. When he was pressing the gas.. after 1 minute or so.. it started to steam of the hood like crazy.. i never seen something like this, temparature got quite high also.. but not at red, the cap was blown down i think - I HOPE its only the cap that is in bad condition....we waited a little so it cooled down. and ****inued to pass the review.. after that they got a search under hood.. wee cooled it again. refilled water. it started to boil. cooled even longer.. added water. was good for some time. i parked it out side and we were watching the coolant tank.. and i think it started to boil again...

Possibility of destroyed head gaskets?

this is geting worse and worse. Ill go later on to check at idle what happens.

Check your oil. If it has coolant in it (looks like a chocolate milkshake) then you might have a bigger issue (like a headgasket).

Where was the water coming from that was steaming?
