Default C5 Trans options???

I need to swap in a different 6spd trans in our C5. What would be a decent or good swap for road racing? I want to keep with the standard synchro trans so we can rebuild the spare.

You have limited options!

MN12, C6 ZO6 (requires a conversion), MODIFIED MN6/MN12 (I had my MN12 converted to a T-60/60 by Richmond Gear) or a beefed up MN6/MN12 by any of the forum vendors that rebuild the transmissions.

You can order any gear ratio you need if you get yours modified!!

I think at this point we are looking to buy another OE trans and have it built up or buy one already done, then we would have time to rebuild the spare and have it on hand. I understand that there are better synchros, forks, and gears available that would more than likely satisfy our needs. The car in build here is only making around 580 or so to the tires. We just have synchro probs with it and its high mileage at that.

I can build you a MM6 (2.66 first) or MZ6/M12 (2.97 first) with a factory fluid pump with all the upgrades to fit your application. It would be a bolt in conversion except for the cooler lines. You would have to run a -6AN lines and the cooler. Please PM me for pricing.
