its about 100 degrees here today and i know the AC wont be perfect but its just plain blowing hot for a long time then slowly cools down a tad but nothing like my 1988 Camaro lol. i checked the level/pressure of the refridgerant and it is fine, compressor is engaging. one thing i noticed is the fans not turning on when the AC is requested, i know in my 80's camaros that the secondary fan would automaticly turn on when the AC is requested

Have the A/C and fans fuses checked. When you first get into the hot car....first roll down both windows and hit the "auto" button. Within a few minutes, it will cool down.
Do the fans run at all? Pull your codes and post them. Check all fuses. The fan grounds come through the ground pack on the top right frame rail directly adjacent to the hood riser...make sure its secure. Check for debris up in the front of the condensor and consider either blowing out or washing out the debris in the vanes of the condensor and radiator.
Unlike the earlier cars both fans in your car should run anytime fans are requested. At low temps there are relays that connect them in a series circuit so they each run at half speed. When temps get high enough the relays get switched so both fans are connected directly to 12V and ground and run at full speed. If your fans don't initially run when the AC is turned on that could mean a relay is not working properly or that one of the fans has failed. If both fans work later on (higher temp) then the problem probably is a relay. If only one runs then the problem is most likely the fan that isn't running.
cleaned out the condensor, wasnt to bad. fans are running when AC is requested. however i think its an issue with the dual zone climate control... passenger side feels much colder then the drivers side, and i have a laser thermometer and its showing atleast a 10 degree differance, so ill look into that. i did exercise the blend motor/doors and it seems a little better now.
I cleaned condenser evacuated/recharged - was the expansion tube

wow thanks for all the quick replies
Had poor cooling. Cleaned condenser with special stuff I got at an AC supply. Evacuated and recharged. Still poor cooling. Discharged, opened high side line at right front fender and removed orfice tube.
New tube costs abt $5. Evacuated and recharged. That was it. Might try that if all else fails.
When your turn the AC on, does if feel like its pulling on the engine. If so, you probably have a plugged orfice tube and need to do as BigHank said. I know this is what happened on my car, and this was after someone had actually "fixed" (LOL) my AC system.
Yep, sometimes that little orifice tube is the whole problem. Could be drier and tube....sort of a process of elimination with some of this A.C. stuff.
