Default Electrical Issues C5 2000

I seem to be having some issues with the passenger door. The Mirror, lock, and window do not seem to be working. Passenger control does not work along with the driver control for all those components. I have also tested to make sure power is going to the control panel on the passenger side which it does strangely?? On the other note, weird enough I pushed one of the memory buttons for the power seats and a bunch of warning lights came on in the dash. Some of the symptoms were the fuel gauge was empty, no oil pressure.. pretty much all gauges freaked out. Also the ECM box next to the fuses (the silver box, if that is what it is?) was extremely hot.

I have no idea how i could troubleshoot this any further but i want to say its the computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Pull back the rubber gaiter in the door hinge area. Its common for wires to chafe causing a short. Pull, clean and reseat the connectors and repair any damage to the insulation.

I'll give this a shot thank you. But I am still confused on how a program button on the driver side would cause so much mayhem?? Like it says loss of power, low fuel, car needs to be serviced, oil psi gauge shows zero, fuel gauge shows empty... But when I turn the car off and back on it's fine again but the window is still messed up lol?

Default Door module problems affecting other modules

Your issues stem from poor connections from the female pins in the door connectors. They cause noise & interuptions and havoc on the serial data line. Thus it affects numerous other modules.

The real cure is to disassemble the door connectors and repair the damaged female pins like the connector pictured below:

As for heat,, yea the BCM will get warm.

I have not got to this yet but I wil give it a shot. Thank you!

New issue: I am recently experiencing now the dash board lights will not shut off and the interior lights as well after you turn the car off. I don't know if this is related to the other issues??

If you've had a short it may have run down the battery.

Check the voltage at the battery terminals with a digital meter. A fully charged battery is 12.6 volts and 11.6 when discharged. 00 Rooster is absolutely correct. A run down battery can cause all sorts of weird problems.

Fix the connectors and any chafing first. It may resolve all your problems. Once thats done we can troubleshoot the rest but you need to do this first.
