Great run Wade and Nick. On a freezing day on a cold track! Less than steller conditions. Can only go faster! The tranny is definitly getting the power to the ground with 154 and nearly155mph blasts back to back. This is on relatively small jets and has more , probably just enough for an 8sec pass later this year :D Nick will have more info later...
First pass: 9.7@154, 1.88 60'
Second pass: 9.25@155, 1.48 60'
We had a very busy day at the track as there were quite a few customers cars there we were giveing a hand to. Romanss's 99 ss I think is the first(factory) 6-speed Ls1 f-body in the 9's with a 9.90 @ 3700+lbs.
Wade was very preoccupied with the LS1 edit today tunning a few cars at the track as well as having the driving duties, poor guy!!(haha). A customer from Virg. picked up his car today(97 C-5) and ran in the quick 8 shoot put on by the Detriot area Motown Muscle club and wone with some mid to low tens.
We are very happy with the trans mods that were made from the race in BG last week and was definately putting the power down, we stepped the No2 down for the first few runs and ran almost 155mph on both runs(9.25 the secound). We then stepped the N02 back up and with the track still giving us a hard time(conditions) and shaved almost .15 from the 9.25 pass at the 1/8th but had had some problems right at half track and Wade aborted the run. This was the setup we made just over 850rwhp and suspect that we will see 157-158mph with a 8.90-9.0 quarter. I know this is speculation but was disapointed we didn't get a full clean pass on the last run, next time; that's racing.
Verry happy that we are picking up the pace and the MPH is definately comming around. On the last run even though we spun the tries a bit the car still ran a 1.39 60ft, all the small things like chassis settings and such are coming around and helping us get closer to the 8's. The one factor we still haven't put into the equation is that we are still using a factory re-sleeved Ls1 block and not sure when we will push the limit of the block rigidity, I am guessing we are pretty close and will just keep at it.
We do have the new drag suspension/front brake system and 15" Alumistar rims on the car that will be for sale after we finish the testing in the next few weeks. There are a few videos of the runs today that will show the new stuff we have been testing, some of the guys in BG already saw these changes.
WOW! Thats an insane trap speed. It will be interesting to see where the re-sleeved blocks do finally give out. What do you plan to do after that? C5-R block? Thanks for pushing the envelope! I predict ARE will be the first ones in the 8's. :smash:
