ARE C5 9.25@155MPH

Congrats Nick and Wade. You're looking at the 8's and I'm still looking to get into the 10's and then retire. Hopefully that will happen this year. Tom Garland is going through the car to get it ready as we speak.
Nick, are you guys coming down to the Cruisein this year? I hope that you do!

I know all of my best runs were on very cold days......
All in all the conditions of the track itself were about as bad as I have seen them due to the cold temps and early season for the track here locally as they havn't preped it propoerly this year yet, only been open 2 weeks.
The temps did help the good MPH though!!
Hey Doug, we are considering comming to the cruise in if it fits in the schedule; it is a bit of haul and were ther last week! I will let you know what is going on, does anyone know who else is showing up to T&T that weekend?

I have heard nothing of the tuner shootout variety. BPP will be there but I don't know if Ernie will race. Tom Garland will be there with his car but now an MTI motor. Tom Hall usually comes down but I don't know about this year.
Would be great to see you guys and I'd appreciate the support my first time out with the spray.

As for a John Force Idle, I am not sure what car you are referring to, but Wade's car has no more agressive of an idle than my ARE 436 motor that I drive as my spring-fall daily driver.
And as for it not taking a rocket scientist to run with Nitrous, do you know what is involved in holding an LS1 together during a huge nitrous shot like they run? This car's engine is not tore down on a weekly basis, trust me. It went pretty much untouched all of last season.
It's amazing the people that have come into this congratulations post with all their derogatory comments.

I personally cannot fathom how someone would have to try and pick apart something such as that, something as impersonal as someone else's car running fast...but to each their own.
Fortunately for me, I'm about 10 minutes tops from ARE, so I'm going to have to come and check out Wade's car sometime soon as I think that is quite awesome!
I saw your car too at a car show a month or two ago, and it is extremely nice! (I think it was your car, next to another ARE car?).

We did have a few things diff. when in BG like some new clutches sent by the man. for us to try(they were supposed to be the "sh**") and a fair size cam that didn't make anymore power than the one we ran last year, this is what R&D is all about and the only place we get to test this stuff is at the track on our own car!! We did return to the "street cam" and old trans setup that didn't let down all last year(this stuff was in the car for the latest runs).
Just a note: we ran all last year and this year so far with the exact same engine internals including bearings! and only put in a set of rings over the winter because it was out and appart for inspection. Some of the pro-mod/super street engines we do are a more consumable program but that's the nature of those classes, this engine is the base hyd. 422 we sell with LS1 heads to anyone with a headbolt and gasket upgrade.
It is good sometimes when we get "questions" on the cars setup as I get to explain a bit about how standard the package is! This is no one off engine and is reliable in the low 9's, as for not doing anything special going fast with No2; your right nothing special we are just doing it(we never said anyone else can't!!).
After the rims are changed it is a daily driver on 94 octane, about 12,000miles last year; to bad we only get 8 months of usage due to weather up here.

Nick is a friggin gentleman. He goes OUT of his way not to knock other people's rides, other tuners, that is just not his way. He's in it for the racing, for the fun of it. He likes to win like the next guy. Why all this poopie?
Nick, thanks for being a standup guy. I hope you come to BG in May.
Doug
