Well....I would run from that deal.....You did read that it said 1 head....not a pair. His facts are off and he say "lash" was set ?? Not possible...And he says '01-'05 vettes, there are a lot more vehicles that came with 243/799's and other year vettes also. He does not mention if these came off of a vette so....you are not sure of the valve thats in the head.....

To make a long explanation short....just watch the board here and a few other forums and you will find some 243/799's.

They typically go from $400-$600 depending on condition and yes they will bolt right up to your vette....well you never really said what your trying to put them on. But since the question is in the C5 section I will assume thats what there going on.

Thanks....

Well in that case....it may be worth looking into (maybe). Your a C5Z or atleast the heads are ??

To me there are to many unknowns with that deal..springs ?? valves ?? how much was taken off the deck ??

A lot of the reputable performance shops (head porter/ engine builders) have GM cores that they "work". I'd make a few calls for a single head, not sure if your in a hurry but you should be able to find something by the end of this week.

You are changing the spring on the other head ?? Right ?? Must have been the "yellows" ??

Thanks...and good luck...

well i have a line on a single head right now. i plan on getting a set of Comp Cam springs to put in the heads. actually there was no one yellow spring in my heads at all. which leads me to believe someone has done them in the past. i was reading the guys feedback & he has all positive ones to only 3 neutrals. no negatives at all on the last 12 months.

01 to 03 vette and 05 CTSv

Read the whole ad. if you need one head go for it. But at his price buy both heads.

That is the wrong head for a Z06. Many 243's did not come with the lightweight valves you require for your car.

Look elsewhere, that head won't work unless you want to spend a lot more on what are becoming rare valves.
