On the lower end of the price scale XSPower offers great value and is what I run. Some like OBX while others do not.

I hope I have answered your question without any wisecracks about the "search" button.

I appreciated a straight answer when I first joined the forum and still do even after using the search button also.

Welcome and I am sure you will find many members willing to help you in the future. Do not be discouraged.
the problem is the answer is subjective

Well, it has been entertaining reading all this. Just a simple comment from me. I used the search - and did all the reading - I already had a set of TI cat back exhaust which I purchased from a Chicagoland member - I ordered a set of X S Power LT's w/ cats from a supporting vendor - Installed them myself and found instant seat of pants satisfaction - and such a sweet sound - after a couple of months got a tune and found more power. IF you pull off the exhaust manifolds I recomend LT's - NO Regrets here...

In that case, weight reduction is your best bet on better times, not more power.

In the case of a road course, there are more straights and wider turns that allow you to put down more power. in this case, power will play a much larger role than in autox. you want to put down as much power as possible throughout the track, so the obvious choice would be long tubes. they might make a little less on the lower end than some shorties, but the long tubes always result in a higher mean effective pressure.

with a similar post-header exhaust system on long tubes, the system for the shorties will always weigh lighter. there is just more material with a long tube setup, and that is undeniable.

i guess one thing that i posted that was wrong is sometimes a set of decent shorties will cost more than a set of cheap long tubes, so they arent always less expensive.

i know that you don't need a tune because I ran shorties for 3 months without a tune with no problems.

I hope you understand now.
for the most point.

the fastest cars are the ones with the best suppression and driver skills, Not the most HP.

and Driver Skills are NEVER EQUAL.

Driver Skills WIN races

Well, at least I offered an opinion other than "use the search button dummy" which seems to be the only answer the so called "experts" can provide. He probably appreciated my subjective answer more than another of your superior comments which did nothing to help him decide if shorties or longtubes are a better choice.

Hey, if it makes you feel better to jump in with those comments, then you are welcome for the therapy supplied.

IMHO, if you're going to ask a question like, "Which headers are best?", it helps to provide some background information first, e.g.:

(1) Do you have to meet state sniffer test emission requirements (California)? Shorty headers.

(2) What size engine, modifications or any power adders? 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8" Long tube headers..

(3) What is your budget? The is a wide range of prices out there for short and LT headers...

(4) With or without catalytic converters? Many companies sell an x-pipe with or without cats..

(5) How important is fitment and performance vs. price to you? Some fit better than others...

(6) What findings did you come up with based on your search of the forum? Specific questions?

(7) If you want Stainless Steel - are you aware there are two types (quality) of SS out there?

(8) Did you compared 'before and after' dyno sheets from forum members for their performance?

(9) Which companies provided poor customer service after the sale if you had problems/questions?

Ok, now which is the best Cold Air Intake (CAI)?????
