Hello. Newb here...
I recently picked up my first corvette. It's a clean '01 A/T. So far all
I've done is catch up on maint and installed a vararam intake with bridge. My next mods are going to be LT headers w/tune and then the stall converter. I was wondering how difficult it is to change out the converter? Can any transmission/clutch shop do it, or? Sorry. I searched and could only find threads discussing the performance aspects......
Most tranny shops should be able to swap converters for you. But you will also need to get a tune up to adjust shift points and shift firmness. What gears are you running? If you are running 2.73 gears I would swap them for at least 3.42 gears.

Ok. I'm not sure what gears it has... Is it stamped somewhere?
I'm assuming 2.73's because it doesn't have the adjustable suspension or any factory performance options....
As far as the tune goes. Will I be able to get a mail order tune to work?
Not much in my area for tuner shops unless you own a diesel..yeehaw

There should be a place in the glove box with a sticker with the RPO codes. It is G92 IIRC for the performance rear end. If you have the 2.73s, then get a set of 3.42 and the converter. A mail order tune is perfectly fine for a gear/converter change over.
