When you get the HVAC Air Box out,,,, PLEASE<< PLEASE ! Take detailed pictures of the inside of the air box and all the damper doors and temp doors. Not many people document valuable stuff like that.

I replaced the Accumalator and air pressure, soapy water checked, nothing. Same with the condenser lines on top, not the bottom one yet but I didn't remove that one.

The only thing I didn't do was use new "O" rings, they all looked good and were soft. I trusted them more then my old, new rings.

Bill, thanks for your photo contribution, I will do the same when I get in there.

I just found the leak on my C3 The leak is where the tubing connects to the aluminum piece on the rear of the compressor. Not leaking at the o ring, but leaking where the tube is welded to the aluminum body. Very slight leak, took me for ever to find it. I am going to try some epoxy and see if I cannot get it repaired. There was a very slight sign of the dye in that area as well as my sniffer goes off in that area. Other than that, the entire hose assembly must be replaced.

I realize that this is an older post but it seems to define the problem we're having with our 2000 Coupe. When we purchased the car two years ago, the first thing we did was to bring it to our local dealer for full fluid changes and an A/C inspection and recharge. They could not detect a leak and added dye. The A/C worked well for a while, but steadily seemed to lose cooling capability.
The next spring we took the car to a Corvette specialist who also could not find evidence of a leak. He recharged the system and it worked well for a couple of months but it no longer can keep up with a warm, sunny day.
We'll pass this information along the next time we have the car in for service.
Thanks for sharing the tips.

It's obvious you have a leak. You can buy a reasonably priced A/C refrigerant "sniffer" at several places, including good old Harbor Freight. If you have a leak in the evaporator, you won't find any dye anywhere.....Until you pull the complete dash out. Then you'll see it all over under there! If you get the sniffer, charge your system, and turn it on max cool, fan on high. Then place the pickup end of the sniffer right near the A/C vent, and turn it on. I have a slow leak in my evaporator, and found it that way. You should also place the sniffer close to the low side port, and high side port. After all these years, they can go bad, or come loose. Try some Sealer, and don't let anyone tell you it will plug up the condenser, compressor, or anything else. I can't speak for not plugging up other brands/makes/models, etc. I can, and will, call BS on plugging up anything on a C5. I've put at least 5 (YES-FIVE) cans of the crap thru my C5s A/C system. It still works great when charged. The stop leak never plugged up anything, including the leak!!!!
