Dash noise

Dash noise
I have a 2002 Z06 with 82,000 miles. When I go over a bump I hear what sounds like something bouncing around in the dash right in front of me. Does anyone know what that might be? Its driving me nuts.

No I haven't. The noise is actualy coming from directly in front of me? I guess I will have to tear it apart and see what is moving around. I thought there might be some gremlin in our C5s that loosens up over time that the forum members know about.

The only noise I've found coming from my dash was caused by the antenna lead bouncing on the radio cage.

Not a whole lot to bounce around behind the IPC.....except the HUD projector. Do you have HUD?

I had a similar problem on my 98 coupe. I could hear something vibrating or rattling in the dash. Sounded to me like it was coming from behind the radio and since I'd had the console apart to fix a few things, I figured that had to be it. However, fortunately for me, I discovered the source of the sound before I dug back into the dash. It was my targa roof! For some reason, when I had installed it, I somehow didn't get it lined up correctly and it made a very slight rattling noise when I'd hit a bump. After reseating the top, the sound disappeared. I would have sworn it was coming from the dash area. Won't hurt to check it out.
