hi, was your problem resolved?? i have the same problem. TCS no comms
checked fuses all ok with correct battery voltage. checked ebtcm voltage and ground at the plug and seem to be ok . took the ebtcm off and soldered where it looked bad...
any other ideas??
car is a 2002 ZO6
where does the data line from the ebtcm run too? i would like to check the star connectors on the next module , can someone tell me???

bill , not sure if your reply to me or the post before. well here's hoping its me!! i am getting TCS NO COMMS.
58 sdm u1040 hc
bcm B0502 + B0507 hc
i will report back later with the PCM code i had , reset it now but will show once i go for a drive. Although i have now taken off the EBTCM ready to send away to ABSFIXER ( it the module is the problem ?? )
getting 12 v at A and B on the ebtcm plug. ground or G looks ok on the meter.

oh ok thats what i thought.. read PIN D in another thread!! OK I have power at A + B . does that mean the EBtcm module is dead? still TCS NO COMM ..!!!
Here is the serial data buss. ALL the modules are SERIAL or connected together and if there is an issue somewhere on the data wire, it can effect other modules.

what is the best way to check them bill?? from the ebtcm module where do they go next? have you heard of or had experience of the data wires failing?? does this mean it may not be the ebtcm ?? could it be the pcm? or ? that's presuming the wires are all OK. or will it be the TCS EBTCM module? sorry to sound vague , just no sure what to do next...... i have the module off the car right now...
TRUST ME!! The ABS FIXER people can NOT fix an internal module logic issue. If you are POSITIVE that you have power to the module and the module is correctly grounded, a NO COMMS issues is caused by one of theses issues:
1. The serial data buss has an issue that is being caused the EBTCM or another module. The modules with the most issues are the LDCM, RDCM and the Seat Control Module SCM. Simply disconnect the STAR 2 Connector shorting buss (on top of the connector) and that will ISOLATE those three modules from the rest of the modules.
2. Plain and simple,,, The module has power and ground but, ITS TOAST!
3. Disconnect STAR 1 and STAR 2 connectors and read each module serial data terminal to chassis ground. If one of the readings is out to lunch, that module is likely the issue.
For the C5 to operate, you really only need the BCM and the PCM.
If you disconnect star 1 & 2 connector shorting busses AND JUMPER WIRE PINS "B" & "M" together the engine will start and run just fine.
If you jumper B, M & "E",,,,,,,,,,,, all the other modules will be out of the circuit and if the EBTCM is working, the NO COMMS issue should NOT be an issue any longer.
If its still an issue, you have an issue internal to the module or with the wire to the STAR CONNECTOR! Do a continuity check from the EBTCM connector " PIN #10 " to star connector #1 Pin "E"
