Hi folks new to the forum and the Corvette world..have an 2002 Z06 that has a torn gasket in the stock airbox ...was wondering what aftermarket set up would be good .. or is it worth the money????
Intakes are a worth while upgrade. You have allot of options to choose from.
Your basic short ram styles: SLP, K&N, BBK, etc, and your cold air intakes: Varraram, Calaway, ect. Some of the true cold air units take tuning. So it depends on what you want performance wise and cost wise.
I would be looking for the biggest bang for my buck... even if that means replacing factory gasket..5-10 horse is great! but at what cost if im not racing..?

A good CAI can improve gas mileage slightly as well as the throttle response. Colder air is more dense (plus you have increased airflow) thus it requires less fuel to reach the proper air/fuel mixture for your engine.
That is until you feel the difference in the throttle response and start testing it out at every opportunity.....
