Default Rear Main Seal

is leaking. how hard is it to get to? looks like the torque tube would have to come out. would that be a bear getting out?

you will need to lower the rear cradle and remove the drivetrain and flywheel. be sure it's not the oil pressure sensor leaking first.

The rear main seldom leake but,,, thats not saying that they dont! You have to remove the ENTIRE DRIVETRAIN to get to the rear main.

Like SaberD stated, i would go out of my way to make sure that it not coming from the oil sender or the cam sensor.

Wash everything down with brake parts cleaner and get a mirror back there and look with a nice bright light.

yes changed sender last week. ran it a day with oil dye. took the inspect boot off where the ring gear is and it looks like it is leaking there. but there is oil all over the pan after driving it awhile (40-50mi.) I get about 3-5 drops of oil in about 1 1/2 hr.
the car is a 2002 coupe a/t 106,500 mi.

Brake parts cleaner is inexpensive. Wash down the inside of the bell housing and get rid of all the oil and dirt and let it all eveporate. Then see if you can figure out where the oils is coming from while its running.
