Default battery replacement?

Im out of town and da wife didnt start the car every week like i asked. Anyways she took it in and its no good. Its a duralast gold and i will get a free replacement.or.should i upgrade to the optimun batt? Or anything else. Any advice or experience would help

Seems like a lot of forum members like their Duralast batteries. While I don't have one in my C5, I do have one in my Dodge Durango. No complaints, no issues. T
I have an Optima yellow top in my C5. No complaints. I had one die on me a few years back, due to not being driven, but it was still under warranty and replaced at no cost. After replacing that particular battery, I purchased a CTEK battery tender. No complaints, no issues. It gets connected and turned on any time the car will not be driven for more than a few days. I've been doing this routine for two and a half years now. Nice thing about the CTEK is that it is pretty much a "fire and forget" kind of product. By that I mean that once you set it to the correct mode for your battery, it will say in that mode following a temporary power loss.
In the end, the battery choice is yours. I've got both brands/types that you are asking about. You can't go wrong with either of them, IMHO. I do recommend a battery tender of some type, for those times that your Corvette will be sitting idle of a few days (or more).

In all honesty,, just starting it and running it for a few minutes is NOT enough to keep the battery properly charged. If you are going to leave your car sit for an extended period of time, as the OWNERS MANUAL recommends, "disconnect the battery".

Another alternative it to put the battery on a high quality purpose built battery tender that keeps the battery fully charged and only charges it when it’s needed.

Get the free replacement battery and enjoy the extra cash that’s still in your pocket.

The secret to your battery being able to sit for a month+ and still being able to crank the engine is having a battery with the proper RESERVE CAPACITY & the BCM not consuming more than the designed 20 milliamps when the electrical system is in the SLEEP/SECURITY MODE.
