Default Clutch Guru's HELP

Okay guys here is my problem I put new clutch and slave in my car about a 1 yr. ago worked perfect until last weekend. Then I lost my clutch 200 miles from home this is what I find when I take it apart today. Please share your thoughts on how this could have happened. Car makes 465RWHP 435RWTQ it is split all the way around.

Thanks

If that is the stock disk then I would say you need to upgrade. your well over 500 hp at the crank / flywheel . Stock clutch will not handle it.

Take it the rest of the way apart and examine the thickness of the metal in that machined area. Could have been machined too deep and made the area too thin. A new slave may be all you need.

Hopefully, the new part will be machined better and thicker in that critical area.

I have about the same HP. What clutch are you running?

Another thought,, Could you have been over extending your clutch slave travel?

tagged in for info.

Bill,
Curious... doesnt the Tick decrease the amount of travel needed?
I am by far not an expert... just asking because I thought I heard that

The TICK Master has a LOT more volume than the OEM. The good part about the TICK is that the stroke is adjustable.
SO,,,,,,,,, If you give the master full stroke,,, YES, it will push the slave cyl against the pressure plate fingers past full release and damage the pressure plate or other stuff.

I can not be sure thats what happened but,, its something to think about. Something caused that slave housing to snap off.
It was either; a defective casting or some of the things that people have seen in the past. This is something that Ive seen damage a clutch.

When you adjust the TICK, you start with minimum stroke and increase it until you have full disengagement and that all you give it.

Bill the slave is fine here is what caused it to fail and what I did last yr. when the Throw out bearing failed because it was put in backwards at a shop that rebuilt my Motor and installed new clutch and rebuilt T.T.

Bill is correct if you adjust it to much it over travels so by doing like Bill says you are spot on

Well here is a link from last yr. when I had to fix the end of my input shaft as the throw out bearing failed and wore out the end of the input shaft.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/nort...tube-help.html

And here is what cause the Slave to fail this time

Here is the end of the T.T.

Here is the pieced that broke off

Thanks Bill and Bout,
I guess I was just misinformed. Someone actually told me that installing the Tick would make it travel less by making the pedal closer to the firewall.
I guess that person didnt adjust theirs out

BTW Bout... what is the item that broke and the T.T.?
