Default Mild cam swap only

I will be replacing my balancer and timing chain/sprockets due to balancer wobble. I know I am really close to a cam swap. My 2000 m6 is stock and has 111000 miles on it. Can I swap in a mild cam without having to change anything else?(springs, lifters, rods ,getting a tune, etc).At this milage I assume alot will have to be changed. Done a lot of research and really dont want to take the heads off. Would putting something mild enough to not necesitate and other parts even make a difference?

Wouldn't you hate to got through all of that work or expence for a lifter to take a dump right after the cam swap? Stuff It happens, and it would probably happen to me thats why my 99 FRC with 144,000 miles is getting the works with the cam change, real soon.

DUDE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Your leaving your self open for a WALLET KICKING!

If,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, You install an AFTERMARKET CAM,,,, You really should change:

Lifter buckets
Lifters
Rocker trunnion bearings
Trunnion supports
Oil Pump
SPRINGS!!!!!
Timing Chain

Recommend:

ARP head studs
ARP Damper bolt
Power Bond Dampener
Pin the dampener to the crank

Monitor your INJECTOR DUTY CYCLE and if,,,,,,,,,,,, if they are close to 80%,, Look for 36 lb/hr replacements.

You will need a professional TUNE! Fine a tuner in your area who has FORUM recommendations!

Thats pretty much what I figured. I think I am going to leave the cam alone at this point. Have the powerbond damper, arp damper bolt, and new timing chain/sprocket set and will leave it at that for now. Hoping to move on to a c6 z06 at some point in the near future.

With that many miles, the stock springs get pretty tired and I know several tuners who have seen loss of valve train stability well before redline as a result. If it were my car, I would swap in a new set of valve springs (I would use the LS6 springs) to freshen things up. With the Crane valve spring tool, this job only takes a few hours and if the timing chain cover is off you can easily turn each piston to the top dead center to do the job. You might also consider valve stem seals when the springs are off since they are likely dry and hard at this point.

If its any solace, the 2000 model years had the largest cam of any of the LS1 motors.
