Default Bolt Spacers - HELP!

I need 3/8 ID, 2" (possibly 2.5") steel bolt spacers to reposition my power steering reservoir. All I can find online is 1" spacers, does anyone know where I can get longer spacers? I know they make them as my procharger uses them.

Thanks for the help!

How about pipe nipples with the proper ID? Available at most hardware outlets.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if those would work. The bolts that will be going through those hold the alternator mount in place as well and I need to apply significant torque to the bolts.

Go to McMaster and order some steel tubing then cut to length. You could even get stainless or aluminum if you want to keep it bright.

One other thing to consider is looking at some of the foreign car turbo supply houses. They have lots of different unique parts. That's where I got my coupler for the intake since my is modified.

So it turns out the bolt is actually a metric bolt (I guess I knew that). So its M10 and not 3/8". The diameter of a 3/8 is .38" whereas an M10 is (10/25.4) = .39".

The problem here is there doesn't appear to be any metal M10 spacers available anywhere at any price. It would seem that 3/8" spacer would work if the ID is greater than .39. I've emailed several sites and I am waiting for a response.

I could potentially use a 7/16 spacer (.44") but provided the ID of the spacer will obviously be greater than .44" (to accommodate the bolt) this might be far to sloppy of an application. So I don't really like that.

Does anyone have any insight into this? That is, is it generally expected that a 3/8 ID spacer will work with a M10 bolt?

Thanks for all the help. Summer is wasting away and I really want to get my vehicle on the road....especially after an extremely long Minnesota winter.

100% of the M10 spacers I have found are nylon. Seems to me that would be useless in almost every scenario. I seriously can't be the only one on the planet who needs a M10 bolt spacer.....am I?

Thanks for the link. Those appear to be OD measurements. Also, I need a 2.5" (length) spacer which is probably part of the problem.

If a 3/8 spacer won't work (which McMaster.com told me it won't) I may be forced to go with a 7/16"....or have them custom made. I just think a 7/16" ID spacer will be too big for a M10 (10mm) bolt.

The difference between 3/8" and 10mm is .028". 100% of my 3/8 washers work fine with a M10 bolt. It boggles my mind why anyone would waste their time making an expensive spacer that would only accept a 3/8 bolt and not a M10 bolt as they are virtually identical. Frustrating for sure.

Stack two 1.25" spacers together....

Use the 3/8" spacer, and clean it out with a 10MM (or equivalent letter size) drill...

What's wrong with getting the 3/8" spacers and then just running a drill through them to open the hole up a bit? If you can't get 2.5" then get 1" and 0.5" ones and stack them.

I could likely go to the stock room at work and get an Al spacer that would work. Not sure if we have 2.5", but we should have longer ones.
