Did you have to reprogram the key fobs after replacing with a new one?

I am debating new vs. repair. I have the old one out.

for $ 67.24. AC Delco part #ACD1499C or #10308321. Not sure vendor is a forum vendor, so no name posted. I have bought a lot of parts from this vendor for a number of different autos with 100% satisfaction.

the new switch did not solve the IPC "going dead" problem. It still cycles and can usually be gotten back on by restarting the car. Then it goes out and sometimes just magically comes back on
Something is causing the IPC to lose power. Either it power to the unit or ground from it.
Another possibility would be a loose IPC connector, damaged/spread female pins in the connector OR a loose board inside the IPC.
Gotta remove it to go further.

for the response.
Again, it makes perfect sense that it is an IPC power loss issue. Since it started again yesterday, it is actually a more frequent occurrence than in the past. I guess I'll have to go into it.
The fact that the IPC is new and mimicking that of the original leads me to theorize that the cluster is OK and it is as you conjectured, a power or connector issue as you stated.
Does the cluster just plug into the harness at a central point? Also someone mentioned the orange wire near the column on his was pinched and shorting.
thanks. I really appreciate your many thoughts on this vexing problem.
Seems like the only remaining option is to pull the IPC/DIC or just leave the DANG thing the way it is. It drives me nuts not to have speedo, DIC and gauges while driving. Heck, I just had it all apart to do the ignition switch and before that to fix the lighter which had come loose. That was strange, because the lighter has never been used. No smokeee!
I may run over to Hendricks if it does not rain today, and pick all the tech's brains before I take it all apart again. I always fear scratching something when removing all the trim. I am so fussy, I touch up all the screw heads when reassembling. Probably need to go back on anti-psychotic meds.
