I'm in the middle of a cam install and my front cam bearing looks very similar.

01 stock motor w/ 60k miles. I'm the original owner and never saw any oil pressure issues. I've done about 25 HPDE days with the car.

Nice clear photo.

The front bearing has to deal with chain tension....I'd wager it works harder than the rest.

At any rate, you had no oil pressure issues so I would install the new cam and run it. mine looked about the same at 80K miles when I did my cam.

I probably would if I were the OP as well. But if the engine is out, might as well replace. But find a competent shop to do it.

I learned about engines old school, hands on and I was taught ALWAYS replace bearings when replacing rotating stock. For example if you pulled the cam to inspect it and re-install it, then fine, if the bearings and journals mich within tolerance no need to replace the bearings, unless you just want to (I would). You should not however install new rotating stock on old bearings. New bearings and journals mate during break-in. Break-in allows different tolerances to minimize. A new cam on old bearings may be a sloppy fit and you might not realize it.

I'm just going to leave them as is and continue on with my install.

Besides, it's a better problem to have than a balancer that fell off eh?
