Found the oxygen sensor wire for left side pipe after the catalytic converter was broken off. Plug was gone. Engine seems to be running ok, and no warning lights on the display is what I am curious about. I will buy a new oxy sensor today but would not the computer see the disconnected sensor?
Probably had rear o2 sensors tuned out. They don't alter the fuel trims, so if you don't see codes I would leave it. The just monitor the cat converter, but if you get a clog, you'll know anyways by the power loss.
You have to own or have someone that owns or have a tuner who has a tuning software to program the PCM to not report the rear CAT O2 sensors.
With tuning software like EFI Live or HP Tuners you can change almost all the parameters in the PCM. To use the software on your PCM it needs a license from the software.
Tuners have unlimited licenses so they can tune multiple cars.
Not to hijack, but I'm curious how one can splice an O2 sensor wire? I had one broke and could not splice it via solder. I used a butt connector which doesn't last too long. I think the wire is stainless?
