indicate it lost communication with? Trying to track down an service active handling issue and this is one of the historical errors. My understanding is the "64" identifies a specific component. (Also had a U1000 error)
C1288 does point toward the Steering Wheel Position Sensor. Have you recently had work done where the rack might have had to be dropped out of the car?? Like for example the balancer pulley was replaced?? If so the rack could have been turned while out of the car and is no longer centered electrically.
The RFA is the remote function adapter or the module that receives transmissions from the Key FOB's and the TPMS. Have you been having issues with either one???
No work done ever on steering or rack. (did have the issue with steering column lock not releasing 18 months ago and installed kit to get rid of lock issue). No issues with key fob, however I did get a weird tire pressure reading on RR when I did a 80 mile round trip on the freeway last weekend. I haven't had a chance to verify the reported pressure but I believe it is wrong. (Filled to 32 or 35 lbs a week ago and now reporting 15 lbs) I will check it in the morning. Also the RR has the wheel bearing going and I'm waiting on parts to do that work.

Sorry to butt into the thread but this just caught my eye as I have been throwing 1016, 1064, and 1096 codes on my BO RFA since I bought my car. Could these be caused by the use of aftermarket key FOB's? I had an aftermarket alarm system installed the day after I bought my car and use the key FOB's that came with it.
