The ? is : Are A/C iridium's for LS- 1 engines still being manufactured and/ or for sale ? Or have they been replaced with Platinum's ?
Need your input please.

As far as I know they're still around. That's what I used for my last tune-up. If you can't find the A/C Delco version the NGK Iridium plugs will work just as well. The gap is .040, make sure to check (carefully - make sure you don't scratch the Iridium post) before installing. Do not gap these plugs yourself, exchange any incorrectly gapped plugs for new.

They would not be replaced by Platinum as Iridium is a better conductor of electricity than Platinum is; going backwards would not be a good thing.

the iridium is more rugged which is why it's so popular. copper is actually the best electrical conductor. they just have to be changed every 20k miles versus 80k or so on an irridium

the delco iridium part number is 41-110

Is that the latest, greatest, puckless plug? I seem to remember the original P/N getting superseded when I did plugs on mine and there being a TSB about the pucks breaking loose.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info; I'll have to look into copper plugs as I don't have a problem changing them out every 20k. That's a little more than a year for me and my amount of driving time.

They wear out less than 20K - I installed the copper ones one year, I know it was more than 10K miles (I have 160K on the 2002 C5) and it started throwing misfire codes / you could feel it shudder. I pulled a few plugs and the little pad was either all gone or totally worn off.

AC Delco 41-110 (replacing 41-985) is the current Iridium plug number. I just went through this looking for new plugs and checked it out after discovering the old plug number was no longer available. The Delco platinum plug number is 41-962.

I got Delco Irridium plugs about 2 months ago at Advance Auto Parts so yeah.. if you have a hard time finding them might want to check the NGK irridium.

I got mine through RockAuto. The Iridiums are the only way to go.

Yeah, that certainly wasn't my results either. Been running the Champion copper plugs, one heat range colder, with great results. Car has a moderate cam, heads cleaned up and headers plus very daily driven as well. These plugs work and have seen road course track days and driven every darn day. Perhaps the OEM spec plugs provide replace and ignore use, but the copper plugs simply work better in my humble opinion. Good luck...

A!

OK guy's,found the rebate on the A/C Iridium's to be $2.00 P/P, NOT $ 1.50 as previously stated. There I saved you some more $ to buy beer / scotch.
